Looking for a great way to bring your team together while making a real impact in your community? Our corporate volunteering days focus on the environment and river health, with activities ranging from litter picking to removing invasive plant species, helping to restore and maintain the river habitats for local wildlife.
Beyond the environmental impact, it's a genuine chance for your team to get outdoors, work side by side away from their desks, and come back with a shared sense of achievement.A single day of volunteering with a group of up to 15 people can generate up to £10 of social return for every £1 invested.
We aim to find a location close to your workplace or a site that best suits your requirements. Site availability can vary depending on the time of year and river conditions, as some locations are not accessible year-round.
The activities undertaken will depend on the time of year, weather conditions, river levels, and the requirements and abilities of the group.
Most sessions involve practical conservation work on a local river and may include working in or alongside the water. Typical activities include litter removal, invasive species management (such as Himalayan balsam and buddleia) and other river restoration tasks.
Session times are flexible and typically run between 9:30am and 3:00pm. We’re happy to tailor the timings to your needs; however, longer sessions tend to be more productive, as time is needed for safety briefings, PPE distribution, and issuing tools and equipment.
Please note that start and finish times may vary slightly depending on the distance between our office and the work site.
Where possible, we will select a site that is suitable and accessible for participants with disabilities.
Please let us know about any accessibility requirements well in advance so that we can plan the day accordingly and make it as inclusive as possible. While we will always do our best to accommodate individual needs, we cannot guarantee that every site will be suitable for all disabilities.
We occasionally run free community volunteer days throughout the year.
